Resonance invites artists based in Geneva to expand their practice in connection with physics by engaging in meaningful dialogue with CERN’s scientists, engineers, and staff. Organised through an annual open call, Resonance offers a two-month, fully-funded residency at CERN.
Through this programme, CERN deepens its connection with the City of Geneva, the Republic, and the Canton of Geneva through art and science. From 2024 to 2027, an annual open call will invite submissions, with one artist or collective selected each year by a panel of experts. This partnership underscores a shared commitment of CERN’s scientific community and Geneva’s vibrant art scene to innovation, creativity, and cultural engagement.
Resonance targets Geneva-based artists who work at the intersection of art and science. The annual call invites proposals that present compelling visions for engaging with CERN’s singular research, community, and technologies alongside its opportunities for cultural engagement.
The selected artist or collective will immerse themselves in CERN’s dynamic environment to develop their proposal, supported by a tailored programme designed by Arts at CERN’s team. Following the residency, artists will create new work inspired by CERN’s research and their exchanges with its community.
Resonance is a partnership framework between CERN, the City of Geneva and the Republic and Canton of Geneva for 2024–2027.
