Chloé Delarue explores the physical perceptions of our environments and their translations into virtual worlds. In 2021, she completed a dual residency at CERN and at the astronomy facilities of the European Southern Observatory and the ALMA Observatory in the Chilean Atacama Desert. Together with Patricia Domínguez, the two artists immersed themselves in these unique scientific environments to engage with fundamental research dedicated to investigating the universe.
As part of the inauguration of the CERN Science Gateway, Delarue was invited to return to the Laboratory to conduct research for a new art commission, shaped by her exchanges with theoretical physicists. This work, TAFAA – TINA UNFOLLOW ALICE, is a video installation that establishes poetic and aesthetic parallels between the world of subatomic particles and the digital realm, exploring the notion of matter as the constitutive substance of our tangible reality.
TAFAA – TINA UNFOLLOW ALICE was commissioned by Arts at CERN for the exhibition Exploring the Unknown at the CERN Science Gateway.
