In 2014, Papadopoulos received the Accelerate Greece Award, organised in collaboration with the Onassis Cultural Centre in Athens. According to the jury, he was chosen for his artistic achievements and the originality of the project, "which combines the study of nature and science in a way that highlights both the conceptual background of the link between them and the aesthetic aspect of the visual approach that the artist will attempt."

His residency at CERN ended in November 2014. In this interview, he talks about what it is like to be an artist in such a large and complex scientific collaboration for a month of research.
