Join Mónica Bello, Head of Arts at CERN, and Chao Zhao, Dean of Arts and Design at Tsinghua University, for a conversation on art-science programmes

Tuesday 1 November, 9am CET. Register

Many artists examine scientific concepts and topics through their artwork, while some scientists are currently attempting to move towards a scientific understanding of creativity and the arts. Collaborations between artists and scientists are underway all around the world. How can artists and scientists come together in collaborations that will benefit all players? What’s the process of curating art-science programs, and how to communicate to the public?

In the upcoming Swissnex in China’s Art x Science Dialogues, Mónica Bello, Curator and Head of Arts at CERN, will introduce the research-led art residencies and new art commissions that reflect on conversations and interactions between artists and particle physicists at CERN. Following Bello’s presentation, Prof. Chao Zhao, Associate Dean of the Academy of Arts and Design at Tsinghua University, will share the art-science collaborations initiated by Tsinghua University and their new art-science research platform in Tsingdao.

Art x Science Dialogues is a webinar series initiated by Swissnex in China in 2020. The webinar series not only presents artistic projects where scientists and research engineers are deeply involved but also looks into new interdisciplinary initiatives and trends. Through the dialogues between artists and scientists, we try to stimulate the exchange of ideas between the two different worlds and explore opportunities for collaboration.
