Announcement date of the winner of the Collide Residency Award

16 February

29 Jan 2021

Collide is our major arts and science residency award. Since 2019, the Laboratory’s arts programme Arts at CERN, Barcelona City Council and the Institute of Culture of Barcelona have nurtured dialogue between art and science at the highest level. Collide 2020 invited artists to apply with a proposal for a research-led residency in both locations: at CERN, Geneva, and in various laboratories and research centres in Barcelona, while based at the Hangar Centre for Art Research and Production. In this edition, we have received an overwhelming response with 564 project proposals from 79 different countries. The winning artist will undertake a fully-funded two-month residency at CERN and a one-month residency in Barcelona. Three artists will be awarded an Honorary Mention and will be invited to be part of CERN’s Guest Artist programme, consisting of a two-day exploratory visit of the Laboratory. At least one Honorary Mention will be awarded to an artist residing in Barcelona.

We want to thank you all the applying artists for submitting their proposals to the residency. The announcement will be on the 16th of February. Save the date!
