COLLIDE Geneva 2014

Rudy Decelière and Vincent Hänni are the winning artists of the COLLIDE Geneva Award 2014. Their 3-month residency at CERN took place at the end of 2014, collaborating with two physicists: experimentalist Robert Kieffer, and theorist Diego Blas.

Vincent Hänni et Rudy Decelière sont les gagnants de la résidence artistique au CERN: COLLIDE Genève 2014 (Son et Musique), soutenu par la Ville de Genève et la République et Canton de Genève.

 

Vincent Hänni aborde la musique comme un matériau à former et déformer. Il aime à jouer avec les différents cadres ou conventions stylistiques afin de les faire bouger, de relever les forces et les tensions qui les traversent. Il cherche à éviter la standardisation, amener ailleurs, et fondre son propre jeu dans cette matière.

Something tthe artists feel deeply inspired by are Bubble Chambers and diagrams to study the images produced by them.

 

 

Development of the "Horizons Irrésolus".

 

 

"We think that the way we were created was from a kind of white noise that happened everywhere in the universe in a vacuum, being stretched or filtered by a huge explosion that we call inflation." CERN Theorist, Cosmologist, Diego Blas.

 

 

 

The Collide@CERN Geneva 2014 Artist Residency with Rudy Decelière and Vincent Hänni has come to an end...or, has it? Here is Robert Kieffer expressing about his experience during the residency, and explaning the development of their project.

March 2015, the artists and their CERN scientific partners decided to continue the residency beyond. This time in a studio to work on project together, which gave as a result "Horizons Irrésolus".
